Fox Appoints New General Counsel Alongside Legal Leadership Restructuring
2026-10-21

Fox Corporation announced recently that Nicholas Trutanich, currently Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, will succeed as the Company’s General Counsel. Adam Ciongoli, the outgoing Chief Legal and Policy Officer, will depart on December 1 after a three-year tenure at Fox. Following his departure, Adam Ciongoli will continue to serve as a consultant to the Company under an 18-month agreement.

Nicholas Trutanich joined Fox in March 2021, initially serving as Executive Vice President for Litigation and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. Prior to Fox, he served as Chief Integrity Officer of the United States Football League (USFL) and held multiple roles within the U.S. justice system for many years.

Adam Ciongoli joined Fox in 2023, succeeding Viet Dinh, who had held the position for seven years. Before joining Fox, Adam Ciongoli was General Counsel of Campbell Soup Company.

The personnel change also brings structural adjustments to Fox’s legal leadership framework. With Nicholas Trutanich taking office, Fox will eliminate the Chief Legal and Policy Officer role as its top legal leadership position. The General Counsel will now oversee the Group’s legal affairs. Government relations functions, which previously fell under the remit of the Chief Legal and Policy Officer, will now report to the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer.
