Snap Inc. has announced the appointment of Zachary Briers as its new General Counsel, succeeding Michael O’Sullivan, who will step down at the end of this year.

Prior to joining Snap Inc., Briers was a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where he has practiced since 2012. Over more than thirteen years at the firm, his practice focused on technology, platform-based businesses, IP-intensive transactions, and matters involving high-growth companies. He has represented founders, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and a range of disruptive technology companies in complex transactions and strategic corporate matters, with particular experience across consumer internet and platform-driven business models.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Los Angeles, Snap Inc. operates the social media platform Snapchat and the wearable technology brand Spectacles. Snap Inc. completed its initial public offering on March 2, 2017, on the New York Stock Exchange. The IPO was the largest technology offering in the U.S. market since Alibaba Group’s 2014 listing and marked the largest U.S. IPO by a domestic company since Facebook’s 2012 debut.
